Status Bar

The Status Bar in VektorCAD provides real-time feedback and toggles for precision drafting. It is located at the bottom of the drawing window and contains useful tools that enhance accuracy and control during design.

Mouse Position

Displays the current position of the mouse pointer in sheet coordinates (X, Y). This updates dynamically as the cursor moves, helping you track exact locations on the drawing canvas.

new Grid On/Off

Toggles the visibility of the background grid.
When enabled, the grid acts as a visual aid for alignment and measurement.

  • ON: Grid lines are visible.
  • OFF: Grid lines are hidden.

new Snap On/Off

Controls whether the drawing cursor snaps to grid points or specific intervals.
Useful for drawing straight, aligned geometry with consistent spacing.

  • ON: Cursor snaps to defined points.
  • OFF: Freehand cursor movement.

new Ortho On/Off

Restricts drawing movement to orthogonal (horizontal and vertical) directions.

  • ON: Lines and movements are constrained to 0°, 90°, 180°, or 270°.
  • OFF: Unrestricted drawing angles allowed.

new Isometric On/Off

Enables isometric drawing mode for creating pseudo-3D representations.
Switching this mode adjusts the grid and snap angles to align with isometric axes.

new Entity Track On/Off

Activates Entity Tracking (Otrack) to help align new elements with existing ones.
It shows temporary alignment paths based on referenced geometry during drawing.

new Entity Snap On/Off

Turns Object Snap (Osnap) functionality on or off.
Allows precise cursor snapping to key points like endpoints, midpoints, intersections, and centers of entities.

  • Enhances accuracy when placing or editing objects.
  • Custom snap modes can be configured in the Format settings.
