Getting Started with VektorCAD

VektorCAD is a browser-based 2D CAD application that works on iPad, tablets, Android, mobile, and desktop — no installation required. Whether you're a student learning engineering drawing, a professional drafting designs, or an educator managing a classroom, VektorCAD provides a modern alternative to traditional CAD software.

Launching VektorCAD

  1. Open your browser and go to vektorcad.com.
  2. Click Login to sign in or create a new account.
  3. From the dashboard, click Blank Drawing to start a new design.

Setting Up Your Drawing Sheet

When you create a new drawing, configure your sheet to match the desired output:

Sheet size A0, A1, A2, A3, A4, Custom
Orientation Portrait or Landscape
Drawing scale 1:1, 1:2, 1:5, 2:1, and more

Start Drawing

Use the toolbar on the left to access drawing commands. Type commands directly in the command panel for faster workflows.

Geometry commands

Command Description
Line Draw straight lines between two or more points
Circle Draw circles by center and radius, or other methods
Ellipse Draw ellipses by center and axes
Arc Draw arcs using various input methods
Spline Draw smooth curves through control points
Polygon Draw regular polygons with specified sides
Hatch Fill closed boundaries with patterns or solid fill

Text Add single-line or multi-line text
Dimension Add linear, angular, radial, and diameter dimensions

Erase Remove selected entities
Trim Trim entities at cutting edges
Fillet Round corners with a specified radius
