File Management¶
VektorCAD provides a cloud-based file management system for creating, organizing, sharing, and managing drawings seamlessly -- similar to Google Drive but built for CAD workflows.
Key screens

Home Screen¶
The starting point for file management. From here you can create new drawings and quickly access recent or shared work.

My Drawings¶
Organize and manage all of your own drawings with full folder support.
Features¶

| Open | Double-click a drawing to open it for editing |
Drawing Menu¶
Click the three-dot menu ( ) on any drawing card to access:

| Open | Open the drawing in the current tab |
| Open in New Tab | Open in a separate browser tab |
| Rename | Change the drawing name |
| Make a Copy | Duplicate the drawing into your workspace |
| Make as Template | Save the drawing as a reusable template |
| Download as PDF File | Export the drawing as a PDF |
| Share | Invite others to view or edit the drawing |
| Move to Bin | Send the drawing to the bin (trash) |
Shared With Me¶
Displays all files that other users have shared with you.

| View and Open | Double-click to open a shared file |
| Access Levels | Files may be view-only or editable, depending on permissions set by the owner |
Note
You cannot delete or move shared files. Contact the owner to change permissions or remove access.
Bin¶
The Bin acts as a recycle bin for deleted drawings.

| Restore | Recover drawings that were moved to the bin |
| Auto-deletion | Files remain in the bin for 1 month before being permanently deleted |
Warning
After 1 month, files in the bin are permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. Check the bin regularly if you may need to restore anything.
Tip
Restored files return to their original folder location.

| Check the Bin before files expire | Recover accidentally deleted drawings within 1 month |
| Use Make a Copy before major edits | Keeps the original safe as a backup |
