Sheets Panel¶
The Sheets Panel lets you manage multiple drawing sheets within a single project file. Each sheet can have its own size, orientation, scale, and background color — making it easy to organize multi-page drawings such as plans, elevations, and details in one file.
Quick reference
| Icon | Action | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Add Sheet | Create a new blank sheet | |
| Duplicate | Copy current sheet with all content | |
| Delete | Remove the selected sheet |
Add Sheet¶
Create a new blank sheet in your project.
How to add a sheet:
- Click the Add Sheet button on the toolbar, or
- Type
sheetin the command panel and select theNewoption
The new sheet is created next to the current one and inherits the same properties (size, scale, orientation) by default. You can change these in the Sheet View settings.
Multiple sheets for complex projects
Use separate sheets for different views of the same design — e.g., Sheet 1 for the front view, Sheet 2 for the top view, Sheet 3 for the section.
Duplicate Sheet¶
Create an exact copy of the current sheet, including all geometry, annotations, layers, and settings.
Use cases:
- Creating design variants or revisions
- Starting a new iteration while preserving the original
- Copying a template layout to multiple sheets
Tip
Duplicate a sheet before making major changes — this gives you an easy way to compare or revert.
Delete Sheet¶
Remove the selected sheet from your drawing file.
Warning
Deleted sheets cannot be recovered. A confirmation prompt will appear before deletion.
- You cannot delete the last remaining sheet — at least one sheet must exist in every project
- All geometry, annotations, and settings on the sheet will be permanently removed
Switching Sheets¶
Click on any sheet tab in the Sheets Panel to set it as the active sheet. The drawing canvas updates immediately to show the selected sheet's content.
- Only one sheet is active at a time for editing and exporting
- The active sheet is highlighted in the panel
- All drawing and editing commands apply to the active sheet only
Sheet Properties¶
Each sheet in VektorCAD has independent properties:
| Property | Description |
|---|---|
| Size | A0, A1, A2, A3, A4, or custom dimensions |
| Orientation | Portrait or Landscape |
| Scale | Drawing scale (1:1, 1:2, 1:5, 2:1, etc.) |
| Background | Sheet background color |
Configure these properties in Sheet View after selecting a sheet.
Mixed sheet sizes
You can have different sheet sizes within the same project — for example, an A3 layout sheet alongside A4 detail sheets.
